The tracks led me to the lakeshore which was littered with huge crawfish shells. The heads and claws on these crawfish were almost big enough to confuse them for a small lobster. They were easilly the largest crawfish I've ever seen.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15172790781117660.post-17741806309777639472013-01-11T06:10:35.867-06:002013-01-11T06:10:35.867-06:00Great pictures as usual. I found the tracks of one at Lemmon Lake this summer as it was drying up. I've seen coyotes, deer, and a hog, so I believe the only large wild animal left is the bobcat which seems to be the most elusive.

The owls are great too. I heard a couple of them (the same ones?) a couple of months ago - I believe on the Texas Buckeye Trail - but it's been years since I saw one up close.David LeCounthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10106288248844820185noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15172790781117660.post-88429786280807999822013-01-09T13:34:06.553-06:002013-01-09T13:34:06.553-06:00Oh wow. It looks like "Real Texas" with the white rocks, cedar trees and cactus. We found the southern portion of the trail past Bruton just fine. Did not see any other people. Our pictures don't look as nice as yours. Your photos are really special. We saw two hawks, a rabbit and a woodpecker.
